Pet Carriers FAQs

How do I pick out the best carrier for my pet?

The best way to pick a carrier for your animal is to take them with you when you go to the pet store. Most pet supply stores will have a variety of crates to choose from in different sizes and styles. Let the animal go inside the carrier and take a look around. If they can easily turn around and lay down you might have a winner. All you have to do next is check the weight requirement. If your animal is within the range for that carrier it’s probably a good choice if you like the style. Make sure the carrier is not too big or it could be difficult to handle as well as being dangerous for the animal.

Smaller pets such as cats can use soft carriers which are much easier to carry and more comfortable for the pet. They should have plenty of ventilation and preferably removable padding and liners in case of an accident. Make sure they have enough room if it’s going to be a long trip and get them comfortable in the carrier before taking them anywhere. Treats, toys and blankets are a good way to get your pet comfortable being inside the carrier and then it will be no problem travelling with your pet. They will look forward to the trip.

What is the most high tech pet carrier?

The most high tech pet carrier is probably the Komfort Pets climate controlled pet carrier. It keeps the interior of the carrier at a consistent temperature with adequate airflow in hot and cold environments. Although it is still not a good idea to leave a pet in a car unattended, for short periods of time this is a good alternative to just cracking a window and hoping it doesn’t get too hot. They can be found for less than two hundred dollars.

Where is the best place to find a pet carrier?

The best place to find the right size pet carrier is a fully stocked, large pet store. These places allow the animals to be brought inside so the exact size can be tested by having the animal enter and exit the crate. If there is not a local pet store the next best route is to buy a carrier from an online dealer. They often have very precise measurements for their crates so if you can measure your animal accurately it is easy and convenient to get a pet carrier online. You will however need a credit card or debit card to complete the transaction.
